Your first tidy
The first time you open Shoji, a short welcome tour walks you through setup and shows you everything Shoji can do. It takes a couple of minutes, and nothing on your screen moves until the very end.
The tour, step by step
Section titled “The tour, step by step”- Welcome. A pile of windows on top of each other. Press Use Shoji and watch them settle side by side.
- Permissions. Shoji asks for Accessibility access and shows you where to turn it on. Open at login is on here by default, and Shoji checks that its shortcuts are free.
- Core features. The moves you’ll use every day, as cards: automatic tiling, swapping windows, making one the big one, dragging to swap, focus mode and stacks. Hover over a card to see it, or click it for the full demo.
- Power tools. The hover bar, No peek mode, Tab View, Clean Space, floating, resizing, windows per screen and Activity.
- Make it yours. Pick a layout, how many windows share a screen, how the active window is highlighted, and what happens when a screen is full.
- Ready. Press Tidy My Workspace and your windows fall into place, and the tour tucks itself into the menu bar.
On the two feature screens, switch between Keyboard and Mouse to see each move done with its shortcut, or with the pointer, the hover bar and the menu bar.
Your trackpad gives a small tap when something works, like when access is granted or your windows are tidied.
Watch the tour again
